Ayo Akinwolere’s journey began as the first Black male presenter on Blue Peter, where his engaging storytelling earned multiple Children’s BAFTA nominations. Transitioning to current affairs, he hosted Inside Out (West Midlands) from 2014 to 2017, earning a Royal Television Society (RTS) Award in his first year for a documentary on extremism and later a BBC Ruby Award for Programme of the Year.

Ayo has anchored prestigious events in sports broadcasting, including Channel 4’s rugby coverage of Ireland’s test matches at the Aviva Stadium and the Saturday morning magazine show The Big Tackle. His work with BBC Sport includes The Premier League Show, Football Focus, and Golazo for CBS USA, where he covered the Europa League for three years. In 2023, he won his second RTS Award for Best Sports Programme as part of the BBC’s Commonwealth Games coverage.

Beyond hosting Premier League Today for Premier League Productions, Ayo has fronted major sports events like the Winter Olympics 2022, the Commonwealth Games 2022, Autumn Nations 2020, and Summer Internationals 2021.
