More About

Courtney Holm’s journey toward sustainability began at the age of 15, sparked by her concerns over climate change during a time when figures like Al Gore highlighted the growing issue of atmospheric carbon concentrations. Suffering from eco-anxiety, she devoted her life to sustainable development and climate change action, a commitment that shaped her career path.

Courtney’s educational background is extensive, with qualifications in Environmental Science from Paul Smith’s College, English Language and Literature from Saint Joseph’s University, and an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Wales. She also earned a certificate in Strategies for Sustainability from Stanford Continuing Studies, along with certifications in ornamental horticulture, ethical hacking, biomimicry, and climate resilience.

In the early stages of her career in the USA, Courtney worked with J. Franklin Styer Nurseries and Tuckahoe Nurseries Inc., eventually founding Courtney Evans Garden Design in 2005. Despite her passion for horticulture, she shifted her focus to sustainable development and moved to the UK to further her impact in the sector. At 2degrees, she worked on sustainable supply chain collaboration, leading a key partnership with Tesco that resulted in a digital platform to help over 10,000 global food producers implement sustainable procurement strategies. She also contributed to developing “The Knowledge Hub,” a digital platform for suppliers to share best practices and build efficiencies.

Courtney’s work continued with major organizations such as Unilever, where she focused on sustainable business technology, and the Natural Environment Research Council, where she contributed to the digital environment. In 2021, she joined Capgemini Invent as Vice President of Sustainable Futures, where she played a pivotal role in generating over £5 million in sales within just 18 months. She later advanced to the position of Global Vice President of Impact and Sustainable Futures.

Courtney’s expertise extends beyond corporate roles. She has contributed to publications like The Grocer, Peridot Partners, Sustainability Magazine, and The Financial Times, sharing her insights on carbon reduction, women in leadership, the human side of climate change, effective collaboration, long-term thinking, and the impact measurement gap.

In 2024, Courtney founded The Holm Edit, a company dedicated to driving systemic change by offering practical solutions to help businesses and individuals make more sustainable choices. As the CEO, she focuses on aligning supply and demand to transition the economy toward sustainability. The Holm Edit supports organizations with three main challenges: streamlining sustainability strategies to focus on high-impact areas, bridging the gap between supply and demand for sustainable impact, and fostering a purposeful workforce by aligning personal and organizational purposes.

Courtney’s work as a corporate sustainability expert is highly regarded, and she has been a sought-after speaker at prominent events, including COP 26, COP 27, the World Climate Summit, and the World Climate Foundation. She has also spoken at Sustainability Live, the University of Exeter, Net Zero Live, SAP Sapphire, Nyenrode University, and Reset Connect.

Her areas of specialization include sustainability, communication, tech-driven sustainable development, leadership, global strategy and execution, transformation and change, and climate change. Through her work, speaking engagements, and events, Courtney continues to be a driving force in advancing global sustainability efforts.
