Simon Jack has been the BBC Business Editor since February 2016.

He’s the ‘Business and Economics Presenter’ on BBC Radio 4’s flagship Today Programme. During the September 2006 banking crisis, he reported on key events such as the federal takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, the AIG bailout, and the Lloyds TSB acquisition of HBOS.

Simon also filmed a special edition of Panorama, where he investigated the circumstances surrounding his father’s death to explore why middle-aged men have the highest suicide rates. The programme aired on BBC1 in April 2015.

Before transitioning into broadcasting, Simon spent ten years in commercial and investment banking across London, New York, and Bermuda. He holds a Politics, Philosophy, and Economics degree from Oxford University.
