Christian Fraser began his career as a trainee reporter with the UK’s Mirror Group, later becoming a staff reporter with the Daily Mirror, before joining the BBC in 2000. His first day as an investigative reporter for Radio Five Live was September 11, 2001, marking the beginning of his extensive coverage of international conflicts, including significant time spent in Afghanistan and Iraq, where he embedded with British troops.

In 2005, Christian earned a Gold award at the Sony Radio Awards for his live coverage of the Indian Ocean tsunami, which he presented through the night. He was also nominated for News Journalist of the Year at the Sony Radio Awards and received recognition at the Prix Bayeux in 2007 for his reports on child casualties. Over the years, Christian has held key BBC bureau roles in Rome, Cairo, and Paris, and in 2008, was the only British correspondent inside Gaza during the Israeli offensive known as Operation Cast Lead. He covered major events such as the revolution in Egypt and the war in Libya, reporting from rebel-held Benghazi and Tripoli.

In 2014, Christian returned to London as the BBC News Channel’s Senior News Correspondent and later transitioned into his current role as a presenter.
