Faye Barker began her broadcasting career at 21 as a runner for CNBC before advancing to assistant producer, where she honed her writing and producing business news skills. However, her true passion lay in front of the camera. After shifts, she would often practice reading the news in empty studios, a talent that was soon recognized when she transitioned to ITN. Starting as a production journalist, she made her on-screen debut with 5 News at just 24.

Since then, Faye has reported for various high-profile programmes. Her credits include ITV Yorkshire’s Calendar (2001), ITV’s Package Holiday Undercover, where she investigated substandard hotels worldwide, and narrated ITV’s documentary series St Jimmys.

She has covered significant global stories, such as the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, Middle Eastern unrest, and taxi safety concerns. Her work with ITV and Sky has included interviews with notable figures like politician Michael Heseltine, athlete Mo Farah, and actor Russell Crowe.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Faye contributed to ITV’s coverage by co-hosting their Coronavirus podcast.

Faye has also made cameo appearances in films and TV shows, including Whistleblowers (2007), Survivor (2015), Weekender (2011), Hampstead (2016), and Four Weddings and a Funeral (2019).

Faye uses her platform to support charitable causes. In 2018, she collaborated with over 20 celebrities, including Laura Tobin, Anne Hegerty, and Lionel Blair, to release a Christmas single benefiting Great Ormond Street Hospital. She later joined another star-studded group, including Sam Bailey and Frank Bruno, to raise funds for The Alzheimer’s Society and Action for Children. Both singles reached number two on the charts, highlighting her dedication to making a positive impact.
